Who am I?

I’m Alex—an IT professional, musician, and aspiring solo game developer.

I build systems, write music, and now I’m building games.

I’m also a Denver Broncos fan…

My Career in IT

It may be my 50th reboot of the week, but it’s my colleague’s first of the day.

My motto, since my early days working entry-level IT for K12, is that it may be my 50th reboot of the week, but it’s my colleague’s first of the day. To me, patience and empathy are critical in delivering truly satisfactory IT services and support.

The core belief I carry is that the most important traits in IT are those you don’t need a keyboard for: interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and collaboration.

At my current job, I utilize my agency to seek out projects that combined cost savings with end-user satisfaction, all while staying true to my core beliefs as listed above. Here are some examples of projects I’ve lead…

Led VoIP system deployments focused on user satisfaction and cost optimization
Built automated user provisioning systems across multiple stakeholders
Configured and maintained secure, SOX-compliant office networks
Developed IT policies and asset management processes
Built AI models for business tasks, including contract analysis

…but I’m not stopping there, as I continue my work, I continue to develop my skillset further. My goals for 2026 include managing an IT Help Desk and streamlining chain-of-command for employee provisioning and IT support.

My (New) Path as a Solo Game Developer

As of this year (2026), I began carving out a dedicated path to fulfilling one of my lifelong dreams– learning Game Dev.

This has been one of the most unique challenges I’ve faced. I’m only a couple months in, but I’m gaining steam quickly.

My approach, coming from a background of business process scripting, has been to solidify my fundamentals in programming and learn concepts / principals rather than get caught up in so-called “Tutorial Hell”.

Perhaps this aspect of my life will be the most relevant to you and anyone else who stumbles across “AlexCo”, as I plan to use this site primarily for HomeLab and Game Development logs / updates.
